Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and [BUSINESS NAME] ("we", "us") for Hobbs Logbook ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 13. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use the Service, and they must handle any payment. You agree to give accurate sign-up information.
2. What the Service is, and isn't
Hobbs Logbook helps you record flights and keep track of hours, requirements, currency and medical dates. It is a tool, not an official record or professional advice.
- Totals, requirement progress, currency, expiry dates and the checkride packet are calculated from what you enter and simplified rules. They can be wrong or out of date.
- We do not guarantee that the Service meets the record-keeping rules of the FAA or any other authority. You are responsible for keeping records that meet the rules that apply to you.
- Always check the regulations, and confirm anything important with your instructor, examiner, aviation medical examiner or the FAA. Do not rely on the Service to decide whether you are legal or safe to fly.
3. Your account
Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Usernames are first come, first served and can't be transferred. We may remove a username that is abusive, misleading or impersonates someone.
4. Free trial and billing
- Free trial. New accounts get a 30-day free trial that starts when you sign up. No card is needed. One trial per person.
- Price. After the trial, the Service costs $5 USD per month, plus any taxes that apply. Billing is monthly through Stripe and renews automatically until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel any time using "Manage billing" in the app. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. If you think you were charged in error, email hobbslogbook@aol.com.
- Price changes. We may change the price. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before it applies to you.
- When the trial or subscription ends. You can still view your logbook, but you can't add or change flights until you subscribe.
5. PDF and CSV import
PDF import uses an AI service and is limited to one PDF per calendar month. AI can misread a logbook, so it may miss flights or get numbers wrong. You must review everything on the review screen before adding it. You confirm you have the right to upload any file you import, and you are responsible for what you add to your logbook.
6. Your content
You own your logbook and everything you put in it. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the Service. You are responsible for the content you enter, including names and details of other people. Don't enter anything you don't have the right to share.
If you create a share link, you are choosing to let anyone with that link see your logbook. You are responsible for who you share it with.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or to create false or misleading logbook entries;
- try to get around the trial, the paywall or the import limit, or access another person's data;
- copy, resell, scrape, reverse engineer or overload the Service;
- upload malware or anything that harms the Service or other people.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error free. Offline changes sync when you're back online. We may change or remove features. Please keep your own backup of your logbook using the Backup feature.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account yourself in Settings or by emailing hobbslogbook@aol.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the Service or others at risk. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the Service will meet aviation regulations.
11. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, missed currency or medical dates, failed checkrides, or any decision you make about flying. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you have not paid us. Some places don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept it.
13. General
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in [STATE], unless the law where you live requires otherwise. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
